Our Difference...

We'd like to give you 7 free tips on what to
look for when choosing your wedding caterer

1 Try before you buy
• Always sample your food before you hire - the last thing you want on your wedding day is a bland, tasteless shock.

2 Get a second opinion
• Always ask for written testimonials from at least three recent clients. Plus ask if you can talk to the brides to get personal feedback. Questions to ask include. “Did your meals meet or exceed your expectations?”, “Was your food produced on time?”, “Were staff cheerful and professional?”, and “Would you use your caterer again?”

3 Be spoilt for choice
• Choose a company that is able to provide the range of foods that you and your guests like, but remember, at the end of the day, it is your wedding, and if you want to feed your guests a 100% vegetarian meal, or fish and chips, just do it! It is your wedding, do it your way.

4 Ask about staff
• Ensure that your caterer staffs your wedding properly – a radio of 1 waiter/waitress to every 15 guests will ensure silver service and plated meals are brought out on time and tables cleared efficiently. Less staff will be needed if you are having a hot or cold buffet.

5 Hire Items
• Ask your caterer if they can provide cutlery, crockery, linen and glassware. It may be more convenient and cost-effective to get your food and hire items from one source.

6 Site visit
• A good caterer will ask to visit your reception venue in advance of your wedding day to ensure the kitchen space and equipment are of a high enough standard to punctually produce the quantity and quality of food required for your wedding party.

7 Free resource centre
• Having bought your dress and booked the church or civil wedding venue, caterers are often one of the next requirements on the list. A popular caterer will have worked with some of the best suppliers around, so if you have not booked your cake, dj, balloonist / decorator, car, DVD maker, photographer, florist etc make sure you ask your caterer for their recommendations. A good recommendation is much better than a stab in the dark.

Trends for 2010

Mwah! Catering predict that 2010 will be a period when many getting married will do so on a smaller budget, as a result more couples will either head abroad to tie the knot or downgrade from a posh venue to a beautiful hall or marquee which will help them save money.

Menu trends will move towards caterers able to provide a wide range of good quality foods to satisfy our multicultural society and at a keen price.

So look around, choose well but above all, have a Mwahvellous day.
